How should I take this medicine?

One tablet should be taken 1-2 days before you intend to travel abroad, whilst you are in the malaria zone, and then for a futher one week on your return.

What does one tablet contain?

One tablet contains a combination of the active ingredient Atovaqoune and Proguanil.

What is the difference between Atovaquone/ Proguanil and Malarone?

The active ingredient in Malarone is Atovaqoune and Proguanil. Malarone is a branded medication, whereas Atovaqoune and Proguanil are generic medications. They both work in exactly the same ways, except that the generic offers a cheaper alternative for the same effect. They are both equally effective as each other.
